ISO 20000

Strictly, the ISO/IEC 20000 standard evidences that GMD has adequate controls and procedures, which compliance ensures the quality in management of information technology services rendered.

ISO 9001:2008 – Quality Management System

In 1998 GMD received the International Certification ISO 9001 in recognition to the quality of the services provided to its customers and every six months from that date on it is audited by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). In 2001, 3 years after being certified for the first time, GMD recertified for 3 more years ensuring the quality of their solutions under the ISO 9002:1994 Standard. In 2002, GMD passed the certification audit under ISO 9001:2000 Standard. This new version of ISO 9000 Standard includes requirements for efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement of GMD processes, and it is a management tool that provides competitive advantages enabling the company to comply with what is offered. For 2010, GMD obtained the re-certification of its Quality Management System (QMS) implemented under the ISO 9001:2008 standard, once again demonstrating its ability to provide quality services that meet customer and legal requirements as well as applicable regulations. This important achievement goes hand in hand with the strategy of the company to exceed the acquired contractual commitments with our customers and to maintain international quality standards in all processes. In 2012 expanded its scope of Certification to GSD Processes.

Thus in 2013, recertification last date, its scope currently comprises the processes of:


  • Business Solutions Project Management and Information Technology.
  • Delivery, Installation, Maintenance and Computer Systems Repair.
  • Infrastructure Outsourcing Technology Management in Data Centers (Principal and Contingency).
  • Help Desk Services.


  • Document Management Services, Production, Storage and Preservation of Digital Microfilm.
  • Business Process Outsourcing.
  • Value Added Services of Accreditation and Electronic Brokerage.

ISO/IEC 27001-2005 Certification of the Information Security Management Systems

GMD obtained the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification, auditable international standard which defines the requirements for the Information Security Management Systems, by evidencing compliance and effectiveness of their management processes on information security in relation to the requirements set forth by this standard. Initially, the certification was obtained in October 2009 for the Technology Operations Centre (DATA CENTER GMD) processes, following in 2011 with the Document Management Line and subsequently the Value Added of Accreditation and Electronic Brokerage Line and Time Stamp in 2013. This certification represents an intangible asset of great value for GMD, as this allows the company to strengthen the relationship of trust with its customers by ensuring a high level of protection of information in terms of confidentiality, integrity and availability; in addition to establish a clear difference from the competition.

The standard certification was obtained in 2012.

OHSAS 18001-2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems

GMD recognizes that safety and health at work are part of its fundamental pillars and is primary responsibility of all members of the company to commit to its compliance and enforcement. This globally recognized standard is the best vehicle to manage all risk prevention of the company and when managed as a system, contributes to the improvement of the conditions and factors that may affect the welfare of any person who is at the physical environment of the company. It also facilitates the enforcement of safety and health at work laws, as it organizes all requirements and corresponding records.

CMMI *3 (Capability Maturity Model Integration)

CMMI stands for Capability Maturity Model Integration, and it is a world-class quality model designed by the US Software Engineering Institute (SEI), which certifies the maturity of application development processes of software factories. GMD obtained this certification because it has implemented a structured set of good practices in their development processes, maintenance and testing of the applications produced and maintained, processes that have been enriched along its experience in multiple services in this area. GMD Certified its services of Development and Maintenance Systems in CMMI Maturity Level 3, in 2007, becoming the first technology company in Peru to obtain this distinction, achievement which enabled to maintain leadership in the country. In 2010, GMD re-certified at Maturity Level 3 the Development and Maintenance services and extended the scope of the certification processes to Testing Services. In April 2013, again re-certified the Development, Maintenance and Testing services, which is valid until April 2016.

The advantages of this certification are:

  • Allows providing Applications Outsourcing Services managed by indicators and with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Increase the value of the services provided by GMD, aimed at achieving client objectives, mainly in Time to Market, reducing errors and carrying out the commitments.
  • More competitiveness at national and international level.
  • Use of best practices and lessons learned to ensure the growth of the organization.
  • Motivation of employees as they belong to a company regulated under world-class quality standards.

Currently GMD aims to achieve CMMI Level 5, the highest existing level, certification that has not yet been achieved in the country, however we are sure will be obtained thanks to the efforts and dedication of GMD’s team.

Tier III Certification

GMD has recently received the Tier III Certification, granted by the Uptime Institute. This certification ensures that the Data Center design, located in the new offices of GMD (in the Cercado de Lima), is suitable to provide first class services seamlessly before any contingency. The Uptime Institute defines the Tiers categories to measure the level of infrastructure availability of any given Data Center. To have the Tier III certification implies that the Data Center has an availability of 99.982% and has sufficient capacity and equipment to carry out changes or maintenance on any line while serving other without interruption in the operation of the Data Center, among other features. The Tier III Certification from the Uptime Institute ensures the operational continuity of the Data Center before any contingency, meaning that the new Data Center is prepared to offer high quality services to customers both physically and in the cloud.

Certification of Good Employers Association - ABE

GMD is certified by the Good Employers Association (EBA) of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham). This certification establishes the commitment to the development and welfare of all employees to ensure compliance with best practices in human resource management.

Storage and Conservation – Microfilm Certification

GSD, a GMD company was recertified evidencing that is a company providing microfilm storage services with legal value in compliance with Peruvian Technical Standard NTP 392030-02:2005 MICROFORMS and is able to store and safeguard microfilms with legal value in its microarchive.

Certificate of Technical Approval to Produce Microfilms

GSD, a GMD company receives the Certificate of Technical Approval for the production of microfilms, under the Peruvian Technical Standard NTP 392030-2:2005 and is capable of producing microfilms with legal value on non-rewritable electronic files (CD, DVD, BLU-RAY) from its originals in the form of paper documents, electronic information or data obtained from its Digital Brokerage service and private network (intranet) including the application of DIGITAL SIGNATURE.

Cisco Partner Silver Certification

GMD obtained the Silver certification, being the first Peruvian company to receive this accreditation locally under the criteria Ciscon Channel Program Audit & Policies.

The results conclude that:

  • The partner has a documented management system very well structured with the procedures, work instructions, guidelines and standards used to address the needs of Cisco.
  • The partner has implemented a management system with a proactive approach towards investment, customer satisfaction and business focus.
  • The partner exceeded the requirements of the project risk analysis with the design and use of its current methodology of Risk Analysis, which includes a measure of the severity and probability of risks and demonstration of risk reduction throughout the project.
  • The partner has demonstrated good controls, documentation, and a clear understanding and compliance with the requirements of Cisco in the following processes: Design, Training, Project Management, Incident Management and Change Management.
  • The partner has identified and established business indicators and performance through its own Balance Scorecard (i.e. Chart Indicators).
  • The partner has met and exceeded the Service Attach rate and Revenue from Services percentage values.
