GMD was created in 1984 as a company with projects in the field of Information Technology (IT) following the diversification strategy of GYM and began its activities representing Digital Equipment Corp.
During the 80’s through the 90’s the company focused on selling hardware and software infrastructure. Since 2000 changed its strategy and centers on providing technology and outsourcing services becoming the 1st Peruvian company providing IT outsourcing services to major corporate companies in the country.
As from 2010 GMD reaffirms its commitment to outsourcing services and features to its business portfolio the Business Process Outsourcing services, line where GMD has experienced a consistent growth.
Since its inception enterprises and major institutions in the country have relied on GMD to design, implement, operate and/or manage the most appropriate technological solutions; and in many cases taking responsibility for comprehensive processes that may include infrastructure, human resources, applications, monitoring and auditing.
Customers and strategic partners such as Cisco, HP, Microsoft and CA have recognized the leadership of GMD in the country. A study carried out by the firm Arellano Research and Marketing revealed that GMD’s customers have a level of satisfaction of 85% in respect to the services rendered and qualifies the company as its principal business partner.
Likewise, the company has been recognized on several occasions by Cisco as the Best Performance Partner in Peru, by Microsoft as the Best Service Partner and by Hewlett Packard as the Best Partner of the Year. Additionally, it was awarded as the Best Peruvian Company of years 2004 and 2005 in the field of Information Technology Services.
Recently the company reaffirmed its commitment to quality management by obtaining the highest certifications that a technology company could obtained as: ISO 20,000, ISO 27,000 OSHAS 18,001 and the Tier III certification for our Data Center. It has also renewed its ISO 9001:2008 certification for the fourth consecutive time, for Outsourcing Services in its Technology Operations Centers, Project Management, Help Desk Services, Delivery Processes, Installation, Maintenance and Computer Systems Repair after 16 years with this standard in all of its processes and renewed its CMMI Level 3 certification from the software factory, thus ensuring reliability, development quality, and software maintenance.
